Education Foundation

The Student Transportation of America Education Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Student Transportation Inc. The STA Education Foundation was created in 2003 to advance the educational opportunities available to deserving high school seniors enrolled in the U.S. school districts served by our company.

We have a history of long-term relationships with school districts and the children they serve. We are invested in their safety and their success and our Foundation's scholarships are tangible expressions of that investment.

Mission

As the world becomes increasingly more competitive, and the financial burdens placed upon families more acute, the ability to afford a college education can be out of reach for many high school students who want to pursue successful careers. The STA Education Foundation believes that we must invest in higher education to meet the competitive challenges of today's world. Our mission is to grow the financial base of the STA Education Foundation to provide more support and an increasing number of scholarships to deserving students with each passing year.

STAEF Facts

The STA Education Foundation was founded in 2003.
It is a 501(c) (3) that focuses the experience of Student Transportation Inc. and the talents of more than 9,000 employees on advancing educational opportunities available to the students it transports daily in more than 200 school districts in the U.S. and Ontario, Canada.
Since its creation, the STA Education Foundation has raised nearly $300,000.
It has awarded more than 125 scholarships.
In 2009, the Foundation generated national recognition as it began a three-year partnership with the PGA's Nationwide Tour Championship at Daniel Island, South Carolina.
The STA Education Foundation is based in Charleston, SC.
The STA Education Foundation is governed by a four-member Board of Trustees including Denis J. Gallagher, Peter J. Pearson, Patrick Walker and Kenneth Needler.
